Meet our Columbus, GA Team:

Derwin Cantrell, DPT
Physical Therapist

Dr. Cantrell's upbringing in a military family, coupled with his service in the US Army, has instilled in him a global perspective on service and professionalism. This diverse background has given him a unique set of skills and experiences that he brings to the field of physical therapy.

After six successful years in the Army, Derwin launched a profitable transportation business. However, he soon realized his passion lay in the field of medical services, prompting him to return to college. to pursue and earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

​

As a disabled veteran, Derwin has worked in both outpatient and skilled nursing settings, gaining valuable experience in his field. His dedication to helping others and his broad range of experiences make him a valuable asset to Therapies Leading Care and the patients he serves.

Dr. Herring, a former student-athlete (football) at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy with top honors at Alabama State University where he graduated as the valedictorian of his class with a Summa Cum Laude distinction.

Throughout his career, Dr. Herring has gained a wealth of experience by working in various practice settings, including travel therapy, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, chiropractic offices, and acute care/hospital settings. In addition, he currently serves as an Officer for the United States Public Health Services Ready Reserves, illustrating his dedication to serving his country and community.
